Etude House: Silk Scarf Hair Moisture Pack Review

Hi again.  As part of the chane in the schedule of topics, product reviews shall be published every wednesday. I have quite a few products that I want to share with you and am going to start with a hair product from Etude House - Silk Scarf Hair Moisture Pack.







I have gone through a full tub of this product and found it really amazing.

It is meant to restore shine and moisture to your hair and also helps in nourishing it and combating frizziness.

For best results this product should be used in conjunction with Etude House : Silk Scarf Moisture Mist which I shall be reviewing in another post.

Let me talk about this little treasure today.

Here are some close ups of the real tub.  I really like the packaging but I am not in love with the way you have to scoop out the product from the tub. You have to dig into it litterally and it gets under my nails which is a bit annoying.  There are directions in english as well for us who don't understand korean.. mine is still a bit of a mess, even though I can actually read all the characters. The cute bow holding the lid in place makes it look so princessy :)

The product smells really nice and floral, it's not too sweet and is not over powering but leaves the hair smelling awesome even after a good rinse which is a plus.. I love nice smelling hair :)  The consistency is somewhere between runny and creamy, I can't exactly put a finger on it, and is pink :)

As you can see I have gotten through the whole tub! I must say that a little goes a long way and this one tub lasted me over 6 months where I used it once a week. It's effects on my hair were amazing. I could do without trimming my hair for weeks simply by using this.  All the split ends disappear  and my hair looks really healthy and feels really smooth all week long. I tried using it on it's own for the five minutes as directed on the bottom of the tub, but the results weren't amazing so I lengthened the time to half an hour and results were better.  Add to it the moist mist and there you go, hair is completely controlled and I did not need to blow dry it, which is even better to keep it healthier and delay damages to the ends.  I found that by using the hair cap that came with the Hair mask from the same line, I could continue the day's chores without any of the product getting in unwanted places (eyes and such) and the heat that is generated from the scalp helps the product to be better absorbed by the hair.

Pros:

Does exactly what it's meant to do. Restores moisture to the hair, repairs or rather prevents damage to the ends, makes hair look shiny and smoother, smells really nice without being too overpowering, and helps me go by without blowdrying my hair.

Cons:

It needs more than 5 minutes in order to achieve good results, and it is annoying to have to scoop the product with your hands as the product sticks under the nails. A hair cap should come along with the product since it needs to stay on for more than 5 minutes.

The positives by far out do the negatives so I think everyone should get her hands on this product and I shall be repurchasing this item soon.  Currently I am reviewing another hair care product line which I will talk about at a later date, but so far this one product has made it into my essentials list.

Etude House Wire Hair Band

Hello Everyone :)  Finally I am back with reviewing, it has been a long time. So busy at work and at home, I am currently preparing for a massive Cross Stitch Exhibition that will take place during the first weekend of December (I will post details soon) and with wedding preparations are getting on me as well :(

Anyways, on to today's topic. Today I want to write a little about an Etude House hair band that I received as a complimentary gift from W2Beauty together with my last hair care haul.  Here are some pictures of this cutie :)

This cutie has Etude House written on every twist along with Ice creams and strawberries, and on top of it all is PINK and comes in the most ADORABLE Packaging :) (This is why I am so in love with Etude House :) they do everything in a cute style!)

There isn't a lot to say about this hairband but as it is my first time trying out anything of the sort, I feel like I should tell you my experience. Apart from being packaged in the cutest ice cream ever (as part of the Ice cream line) this band is rather useful. It stretches out pretty well and doesn't loose its elasticity. On top of that it doesn't leave kinks in my hair, no matter how tight I wind it. it doesn't pull on hair either and I noticed that when I use it, I don't find hairs entangled in it when I take it off.  That's super for me especially right now as I am trying to grow out my hair to a longer length.

So my overall rating for this beautiful hair band is 5 Pink Diamonds :)

I don't think you can buy this item from Etude as on the back of the packaging you can see that they wrote the fact that it is not for sale in english!  Maybe you can ask Alice from W2beauty to send you one with your next order? Etude House Latest Collections :)

Hi Everyone! Today I wanted to post some pictures of Etude House's latest collections. I know I am a little late with the &Rose collection but the XOXO Minnie Collection has just been released and its limited to Korea! I haven't got anything from the &Rose yet and they already have a new collection out... I am soooo sad... my wishlist has just gotten bigger. Check out below what's on!

&Rose Collection

This collection is meant for Fall 2013 and is inspired by Sleeping Beauty's Briar Rose. This was the name given to Princess Aurora by the Fairies to hide her identity!  Etude House really hit a soft spot with this collection because Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite Disney Classics :) and this collection went straight in my wishlist!  Here are some more pictures of what makes up this line. Basically there are 3 Eyeliners, a Palette of neutral and rosy eye shadows, two sets of pinkish nail polishes and 8 lip tints in various shades of pink.

And now off to the latest collection which was launched today in Korea :)  The XOXO Minnie Disney Collection :) This one is sooo pinkish that it also made it to my wish list, especially the nail polishes. Here are some images :)

Those are the pictures I managed to collect. I couldn't find any of the eyeshadows and the mascara but anyways.  I am crazy about this collection as well, except for maybe the eyelashes... I am not into those, mine are long enough and I don't like to experiment with sticking stuff on my lids.

Etude House - Silk Scarf Hair Mask review

 

Hello everyone! Time for another Etude House Review. This is the first Hair Care product from the Silk Scarf line that I am going to speak about. I have already tried the Moist Pack and the Moist mist and I can say that they are wonderful.  The Double Hair Care Mask is equally amazing.  Here is a little about the product:

Basically the mask consists of a Hair Treatment and a Hair Cap. The hair cap is supposed to contain an essence. First you have to apply the hair treatment from root to tip and then you have to put on the cap and give your scalp a 5 minute massage. You should leave the cap on for at least 15 minutes.

Here is my experience:

First I washed my hair with the Missha Oriental Dong Baek shampoo. I didn't apply the rinse as that puts on a coating on the hair and won't allow the treatment to penetrate.  I rinsed my hair really well and gave it a little towel drying.  Then I applied the Hair treatment.  I didn't notice the notches in the packaging and had a little rough time opening the pack but then it came out. Here is how it looks, it smells rather nice as well, not too overpowering.

That is all that there was in the sachet but it served well for my medium hair length.  After spreading it evenly and concentrating on the tips (that's were I get most of the damage) I opened up the hair cap. This was a little dry, I expected it to be wet in the Essence (at least that's what it said on the packaging). Anyways, I put it on and it fit well, gave my hair a little massage and let it stand for half an hour. I always like to leave treatments a little bit longer than stated.

After half an hour, I gave my hair a warm rinse as instructed on the packaging and then a cold one.  I was told that cold water seals the hair cuticle and traps the products in the hair shaft :)  I left my hair to dry naturally as usual. Lately I am not using any heat instruments as I want to keep split ends at bay as much as possible. It is a little pain trying to grow long hair !  Anyways, the result was very soft and shiny hair.  I put on a little moist mist from Silk Scarf to finish it off and after 3 days my hair still looks shiny and feels amazingly soft. Split ends also appear to be cured.  They often come back on the 4th day after washing but those are usually the same ones opening up again.

Overall Rating:

Packaging:  The packaging is really cute and has some english directions on one side as well.  The notches should be a little bit more evident though and towards the top of the package rather than the bottom.

Product: The amount of product is adequate.  It spreads well and has a nice subtle smell.  The hair cap was dry, whereas I expected it to be soaked in essence. I have a little question on it but it serves its purpose well and I even got to wash it clean and dry it up.  I will use  it to protect my hair while showering :)

Effects:  The mask says that it is for perm or died hair.  Mine is died on the reddish side so it is good for me.  I really love how it left my hair shiny and silky smooth. I also left a hint of a flowery fragrance which I enhanced with the Moist Mist.

This product deserved my 5 Pink Diamonds and I will buy a few more of these.

Etude House - Milk talk Strawberry - Review

Here is another Etude House review :)  I really adore this brand.. somehow it always leaves a good impression and even though I am really sick... I feel happy writing about it :)  This time I am going to talk about Milk Talk Strawberry.  This is a body wash that smells like strawberries :)

I don't have the full product but I was given a few samples to try out by Alice from W2beauty and so I gave them a go.  I only have one sachet left so I am treasuring it :P

Cute pink packaging with a strawberry on the front.  No english directions I am afraid.. but who needs directions to get a shower :P  The sachet contains 4ml of product and has only one tear-off at the right hand side.

Overview:

The sachet tore off in a crazy way... nearly always happens with these kind of sachets.  The body wash has a consistency of something between a gel and a hair conditioner and is transparent pink with a very strong strawberry smell, which I really like :)  4 ml where enough to take a nice shower and it completely nullified the feeling of dryness left by the Body scrub which I had used before.  It left my skin feeling really soft and smooth and smelling really nice. I am really contemplating on buying the full product and maybe try out the other scents as well. 

These are the various smells there are.... considering that strawberry has a really strong smell, I will never buy the banana one! I really hate bananas... sorry guys!  But I am dying to try the choco and apple ones :)  There is an option to purchase both the wash and the sponge which is also an interesting addition :)

I will award the full 5 Diamonds to this product because I really fell in love with it :)

Each bottle contains 200ml of product which is quite worth it, I believe.  There is also a special set where for $19.35c you get 300ml of strawberry body wash and 300ml of strawberry body lotion.  I only found this deal at W2beauty so I have no idea if the other scents are available this way as well.  You can always check with Alice who is extremely helpful and will guide you through all options... I would ask her for the sponge option as well :)
