Korean Skincare Routine

Hi Everyone! It has been a while since I updated here. It has been crazy lately with the new tasks at work and a household to run. Not to mention the frequent travelling to Brussels!  Anyways, I am back and I mean to catch up on a few things :) I am currently out of batteries for my camera, as soon as I go out to get a pack I will be taking some sweet pictures of my Rose Gold Pink Glitter polish :)

In the meantime, here is something I found on another blog: Saranghae : Korean Skincare Routine

I am not sure if the blog is still active, as in if the writer still posts, because there are very few posts to read but this one linked above is really great. It explains the Korean skincare routine in utmost detail and also gives a good idea of the products to be used and how.  I am planning to take up that regime but since it is a multi-step regime with a LOT of stuff to do, I doubt I will graduate to the full task in days. It will take me some time to find the time for all of that, but I definitely think it is worth it!  Ladies have a look at that post and let me know if there are other korean skin care routines worth taking note of out there! Something for the whole body for example of fo the hands and feet?!  I am currently using Lioele Carry Me Hand Cream in Blueberry twice daily because with all the house chores to be done, I feel like I am wrinkling and drying out my hands prematurely. This cutie is having a positive effect up till now as hands feel really smooth. Since the handcream is kind of water proof, two applications, morning and night, are enough for me :)

I am going to leave you with this little update and blog promo. Hopefully I will find the time to whip up a real post! I have to go get ready for a wedding celebration this afternoon :)

See you guys later :)

DIY - Knitted Peg Bag

Hi Everyone!  This is the first post of its nature. I am going to be sharing with you all my Do It Yourself Projects that I finish every now and then, even though time to work on such projects is rather limited with the new lifestyle. Today I am going to show you my newly finished Knitted Peg Bag which I made from scratch.  For those of you who are familiar with knitting and basic crochet, this piece is going to be a piece of cake to create.

The idea for this peg bag came with the first laundry that I had to make. I didn't have anywhere to hold the pegs and it was a nightmare running around with the things and throwing them everywhere in the washroom. I bought myself some plastic baskets to carry the laundrey in and I got myself a rather big basket with handles and everything, to keep the pegs in but it was nowhere close to handy. Then I remembered that my mum hand a peg bag that was bought ages ago featuring owls and was made of canvas. The first time I went to visit I got a good look at it and decided to imitate the pattern but using knitting rather than canvas fabric and here is what I made!

So for those who with to make their own version of this, you will need the following:

A hanger, possibly straight. I used one that is made to hold skirts and removed it's clips to make it straight. Knitting needles, knitting yarn of choice, ribbon (if you wish), crochet hook, sewing needle and thread matching your knitting yarn, scissors and patience.

There you can see the knitted fabric that I worked. I used various patterns to identify the parts and also incorporated a pattern with eyelets so that I can thread a ribbon through them.

First thing you need to cast on enough stitches to cover the whole length of the hanger and a little extra. Then decide on the pattern you are going to knit, you can do anything from a basic purl stitch all over or a knit stitch all over. A little search online will give you a vast library of stitches. I started off with popcorn stitch and worked enough to cover the height of the hanger. Then I worked an eyelet pattern for the ribbon to go through it and went back to the popcorn stitch all the way to match the height that was already worked. This will eventually form the pouch holding the hanger.  I used another pattern, the wavy one that can be seen on the right hand side of the picture above, to cover the length from the hanger pouch to the eventual opening of the bag and then changed again to a triangle pattern made with knit stitch and popcorn stitch as you can see on the left hand side above.  After that I changed again to a few edging rows in popcorn stitch with an eyelet pattern so that they match the patterns of the hanger pouch.  It was all worked using the same right side all over. The trick is in remembering where to fold and sew.

When I finished all the knitting, I threaded in the ribbon through both eyelet patterns, making sure to keep the ends on the wrong side of the work. I secured these ends with a matching thread and gave them a few sewing stitches.  Here is a close up of the ribbon:

The next thing I did was to find the centre where I wanted to fold in order to create a pouch for the hanger and inserted the hook of the said hanger in the middle. I then started crocheting from  one end to the other enclosing the hanger in beetween. Here is how it looks when done:

Next I looked for all the knots and threaded the loose ends so that they don't show.  Finally I worked out the fold for the actual bag and crocheted the side ends together to form the bag. It is important to not crochet the horizontal end otherwise you won't be able to put anything in!

This is the final product. For a little extra touch I tied up a ribbon to the hanger like this:

That was the first Project that is useful for the house chores :) All in pink because I love pink and girly stuff and knitted because I love to play with yarn.

I hope you enjoyed this post and please let me know what you think. I am sorry if my explaining wasn't so good but if anyone has a difficulty, please feel free to ask, I will be more than happy to help! If anyone wants the patterns to the stitches I used, I will post them in another post for everyone to be able to follow and adapt them to their own projects. They are very simple in fact and you only need to know a few basic things.

Well, that's it for now, I have to go prepare hubby's lunch for tomorrow!

See you soon,
Saranghae,
Pauline

Head Bands Haul :)

Hi Ladies,  here is another haul I did from Born Pretty Store. I purchased this lot a while ago before getting married and received it right after the wedding :) Like a present from me to me :)  Here are some photos of what I bought, some of which I already tried and got nice comments about. I will be posting a review on each one of them in the coming days but for the sake of this particular post, I will share with you pictures of the items and how to buy them :)  We all know it could take me a while to get to writing again and snapping pictures! Currently my camera is in desperate need of a set of new batteries but I don't have the time to go to the store!  Anyway, on with the show, the bracelet at the end of the pictorial was sent to me as a gift but the BPS staff, actually they sent two but I only photographed one :)

Everything came individually wrapped but it was a real pain to unwrap the pearl one below!

This one is really princessy and is supposed to be used in weddings. Well it can be used like that but I will definitely wear it with some blingy outfit for a night out! It looks gorgeous!

This trio is my everyday favorites. I already wore the pink and the green one and people said that they look really cute and give me a certain look, I took the certain look part in a good way hehe

Those are some close ups of the cute boy with gold details

This is classy one with the pearls and such. I already wore it to my favorite restaurant with a rather casual look and it looked perfect. I can dress this up or down according to the outfit.

And last but not least, some pictures of the two Hello Kitty Bracelets I received as a gift with my order. Aren't they cute! I love the way their clasp is and the fact that they are not too wide so they will fit well around my wrist :)

You can purchase all the items above at Born Pretty Store and don't forget to use the Coupon on the right of the pace (PCLG10) to get everything 10% cheaper than the selling price, even if the items are marked on sale, you still get everything 10% lower. Oh and hurry because these head bands are really selling out fast, there were quite a few more I wanted to buy, if you remember I had posted links in a previous post were I talked about cute head bands that caught my eye. Well quite a few of them are sold out, in fact if you visit that post now, you won't find the pictures of the ones that are gone for good.

I wish to thank Born Pretty Store for the amazing shopping experience they provide everytime I visit their store, and congratulate them on the new look as well. The website had a makeover recently and now is more easy to navigate :)

Well I guess that's it for now,
Thanks for reading,
Saranghae

Nail Polish Haul :)

Hi Ladies, it's been a while since I posted anything except fashion updates from Dresslily. I have been way too busy with the wedding preparations and aftermath to find some time for true blogging. Getting into the married-life routine wasn't easy even with two weeks off from work!  I am still trying to set a schedule for house chores and cooking dinner hehe So far I managed to schedule some recipes for the coming two weeks so that I won't have to bother looking up a recipe every evening and go shopping everyday! That was too much of a waste of time! Well lets move on to today's post. I want to share with you some glitter polishes that I bought while I was having my wedding nails done. I remember last December going over all of Valletta shops in search of a nice glitter polish for the festive season and finding only 1 which I spoke about here.  I totally forgot about my nail technician's salon!  When I was doing my nails for the wedding, well they had to be special right! I was looking around and caught sight of the Golden Rose Collection and to my surprise there were glitters, lots of glitters!  I went over to the rack while my bride's maid was having her nails done and took a real good look.. there were quite a few glitter colours and they weren't exactly on the cheap side at 5.50 Euros each. After some thinking, I decided on the 4 below:

How do you like these four beauties? :) Pink is my natural favorite so there are three shades that have pink, the first one is mixed with silver and purple, the second one is pure fuschia, the thirds is a carnival mix and the last one is a teal mixture of small and hexagon glitters.  Note also the new background which is my new living room! The table in the far back is dedicated to Asia with horses symbolizing the Mongols' ability to use horses, a Budha symbolizing the religion, an orchid which is naturally asian and then there are some shells which are there because I got no better place for them but in a way they symbolize the sea :) The huge door onto the terrace allows for the perfect lighting for photographs even though today its a windy and overcast afternoon and I had to do with the little sun that emerged from behind the clouds!

Here are some more pictures of the polishes to give you a better idea of what they look like :)

So what do you think? Do you like my choices and which should I try first? Comments are warmly welcomed :) Feel free to express yourself, I love to read people's opinions and thoughts :)

Well that is it for now,
Thanks for reading,
Saranghae,
Pauline
