BodyShop Gel wash vs Cream Wash

Hi Everyone! As I promised I want to catch up with all the things I took note of during the past summer. We are already in Autumn! Time flew away!  Today it's all about shower talk :)
I am going to share my point of view of the Body Shop's Gel wash and Cream wash.  I decided to give both a shot and I chose the strawberry gel wash and the coconut cream wash. If you want to know what I think about them, keep reading :)

The first thing to note about Body Shop products is that they are not exactly cheap compared to other drugstore showergels but they are quite affordable considering that they are a specialised brand.  When I was checking out their extensive range of shower gels, my eyes fell on strawberry. I had tried an Etude House shower cream that smelled like strawberries and fell in love with it, so I wanted to try out another strawberry product.  I must admit that the Body Shop's strawberry showergel doesn't disappoint because it smells exactly like real strawberries and is divine.  It's consistency is not very runny but not to gelly which is good, and a little does go a long way. I found out that it lathers quite well as well and when used with the Body Shop's Loofah (mine is pink and came with a set of travel sized shower gel and body lotion in japanese cherry blossom) leaves the skin feeling really clean and smooth. It's smell, divine as it is, doesn't linger too much to the skin, after you rinse and dry up, you don't smell of strawberries, it only leaves a tiny hint, which is good because people will not think that you are a walking strawberry. It does scent the whole bathroom while showering and that is really relaxing.  Overall I really loved this product. I would have liked it to soak its perfume a bit more in the skin but I can't complain.

When checking out which shower cream to pick, I noted that there aren't too many options and since I like coconut smell I picked it up.  The first things to note is that it really smells like coconut and it is quite strong. The consistency is not too runny but the cream is rather thick.  I admit I had high expectations but was a little bit disappointed.  The smell and consistency were perfect and although the smell infuses all around the bathroom, it doesn't linger long on the skin such that I didn't smell like a coconut at the end of the day.  So far so good. What I didn't like is the fact that you do need a lot of product to shower properly and it doesn't lather too well. I did use it with the Loofah because it doesn't work with a normal face cloth. It is not good for fast showers either. By fast shower I mean, you soap yourself up without using loofah or clothes and lather yourself up before rinsing and drying off.  This kind of shower is something I do in the mornings before work but I have to point out that I do take a proper shower before going to bed so this is more like a refreshing shower to start the day in a cool way, especially in summer. In winter, this step is totally skipped and I stick to my evening shower. It's too cold in the morning and there is no need to cool off. In any case, the shower gel is more siutable for the quick shower because it spreads fast and lathers nicely as opposed to the coconut shower cream.  Back to this product, when used with the loofah it leaves the skin moist and smooth so that is a plus, but overall it doesn't convince me and I didn't fall in love with it.

After trying these two products out, I must admit that I fell in love with the strawberry shower gel and I finished the entire bottle just a few weeks ago.  I am still trying to use up the coconut shower cream and in order to force myself to use it, I removed all other shower products from the bathroom :)  I will probably not purchase any more shower creams and will stick to the gels, in fact I already bought three more shower gels from the Body Shop range, one of which is a special called Fijian Water Lotus and I also got the perfume mist in the same line. I must say that I love it, but I will talk about this one another time. The other two are fruity gels in Vineyard Peach and Pink Watermelon.

I wonder whether any of you tried any of these products and what were your opinions about them? Did you like the shower cream or do you prefer the shower gel same as I do?

That's all for today, I hope to read your answers and experiences in the comments below,

Till next time,
Saranghae

Pauline
